Dear Friends of EMPOWER Leadership Sports & Adventure Center,
We wish you all health and safety during this very difficult time caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. A very special thank you to those who are out on the front line battling the pandemic and providing healthcare for those who have been impacted – you are true heroes. The 2020 opening of our adventure park has been postponed due to the safety concerns surrounding the pandemic and our team is preparing tirelessly to adhere to all safety recommendations and requirements established by the CDC and our local health authorities when we are able to reopen. Until then, we wish you nothing but health and safety!
While the start of 2020 has provided everyone with a very unexpected challenge, we are excited to announce changes to the Empower operation for 2020 and beyond.
Empower will be relocating from Middletown to South Windsor – home to our exciting new adventure operation at Nomads Outdoor Adventure Park. While our home base for adventures in the treetops may be changing, our commitment to providing positive, family-friendly adventure fun for all remains the same. Whether it be for adults, children, groups or singles, our adventure park in South Windsor has an adventure perfectly suited for you. With six different challenge courses, over 80 climbing elements, 10 zip lines, jumps and leaps, and lots of friendly staff to help you along the way, our new Adventure Park is the perfect place to spend a day in the treetops. To see our new course and learn more about our 2020 adventures, please visit www.nomadsoutdooradventure.com.
In addition to the change of venue, Empower has also expanded its leadership and team development program. Due to demand in Connecticut and beyond, we’ve transformed the leadership development branch of our operation to provide more capability and availability than ever before. We continue the mission we set out on 11 years ago to inspire and motivate 1 million individuals to become leaders. Learning through adventure experiences is the cornerstone of Empower Leadership. So if your group, team, or colleagues are in need of clarity on purpose, direction, and motivation, please check out Empower Leadership at www.LeadwithEmpower.com.
In 2009, Empower Founder Joe DeRing and I set off on an exciting adventure – to empower individuals and teams through uplifting adventure experiences. Over the past 11 years in Middletown, we have had the pleasure of sharing empowerment experiences with nearly 200,000 individuals while delivering more than 3,000 different adventure events.
On behalf of Joe and Maureen DeRing and all of our Empower Family, thank you to all who’ve been a part of our Empower journey for our first 11 years. We are truly grateful for all of the meaningful connections we made and uplifting adventures we personally shared with our clients and customers on South Main Street. We look forward to crossing paths with you again at our new location in South Windsor.
